Starting therapy is a powerful step toward positive change and a better quality of life. Through self-reflection, kindness to yourself, and gaining more awareness, therapy can guide you on a path to personal growth and fulfillment.
I know it’s not always easy. It takes courage to explore your inner world and uncover the person you truly are and the person you want to become. It’s a journey of growth and transformation, one that invites you to embrace change and step into your true potential.
My practice is mainly online, using secure, easy-to-use video software to ensure privacy. I offer cash-pay services and I also accept Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, Carelon, MHN, and Decent (with more insurance options coming soon, including Oxford, Oscar, Blue Cross of CA, United Health Care, and Magellan).
If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d love to offer you a complimentary 15-20 minute consultation. You can easily schedule through the “Book an Appointment” button, call or text me at 909-307-4605, or email brendamelgozamft@yolotlicounseling.com. Let’s work together to begin your journey of self-discovery and growth.
"Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we're supposed to be and embracing who we really are."

The word "Platicas" in Spanish translates to "talks" in English. Prior to the pandemic, I organized and cultivated a space where my friends could share their stories, strengths, courage, successes/failures, fears, and experiences with mental health, all while learning to be vulnerable and open (aprendiendo a ser vulnerables). I embraced the idea that food brings people together in a meaningful way, so I structured the Platicas around brunch.
While Platicas were organized around specific topics, they also allowed for spontaneous conversation (conversación improvisada). Platicas are intended to foster connection and community, inspired by conversations with friends who expressed feelings of loneliness or a lack of community and connection. The goal was to address this need, particularly within the BIPOC and Latinx Young Professionals Community.
Moving forward, Platicas will be open to all individuals, not just my friends. Ideally, there will be multiple groups, including one for the general community and another for therapists, promoting the art of Platicas.
